2020 was a uncertain year. One day you could go out as you please, do anything you want. The next moment there were lockdowns, self isolation, face masks and hand sanitiser.
This time last year, we had no idea that a virus would start in China and spread to the whole world! How hard must it have been for the leaders of each country with the pressure of leading the country as well as controlling the virus. Please pray for God to give wisdom to the leaders of every country.
It has truly been a scary and tragic year for many of us. Our thoughts and prayers are with those who have lost loved ones and those facing challenging situations.
In the midst of all the turmoil, there have been outstanding testiomonies of God’s mercy too. We thank God for those who caught the virus and survived and for all who made it safely to the new year all well as all the health workers who worked tirelessly to care for the sick.
Even though this past year has been full of uncertainties and disaster, take heart! God is with you and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Heb 13:5). I like to think of Psalm 46:1 which talks about how God is our refuge and strength and is present in times of trouble. Even when there are hard times God is with us all the way. If you place your trust in Him, you will find His word to be true.
We are now starting a fresh, new year and we have no idea what God has in store for us, but we should put our trust in Jesus and follow Him even when it seems like what God is saying is not making any sense. I pray and hope that God will bless you this new year.
Happy New Year, everyone!
