Dig In, Rooted

New Beginnings

It is the beginning of a new school year. New experiences, new plans, and new goals to try to achieve. Most times whilst preparing for the latest, futuristic, contemporary thing, we can often lose focus of God. Sometimes we think that when we have everything figured out then we will ask God “to do His thing.“  I am realising that God is the one who has given me these new experiences, guiding my footsteps to where I am today.

The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the Lord upholdeth him with his hand. Psalm 37:23-24 KJV

The psalmist here points out that when God is the Lord of all our life He will guide us in His way. Even though we may fall, He is there to catch us. I am learning that the God of prophecies, is also the God of provision, when we reach obstacles. It was the same God that prophesied the Messiah’s coming centuries before it happened, that saved the people of Israel at the Red Sea, just in the nick of time. The God of power and instruction is also the God of provision and aid.

I am definitely NOT recommending that you enter the new school year unprepared. Instead, I am asking you: How much further can God take you? When the people of Israel reached the Red Sea, it was as if they were at a dead end, a brick wall. “Did you bring us into the wilderness to die?” they asked. But when Moses called upon the name of the Lord a door opened that no one saw before. The Lord literally created a path through the sea for them. As long as we truly believe and bear our cross daily, He can do the same today for you and for me. May the God of provision be with us all.
