I’m particularly pleased with this issue as we had a wide range of submissions, and we finally managed to update our photos for the first time in four years. 😂
Rooted’s birthday!!
Also, crazy news: Rooted is officially 5 years old! I first created our website in late 2019 but it wasn’t until 2020 that we first published the magazine. It’s incredible to me that we’ve been able to publish twice every year for so long and even though our lives have changed a lot since we started, God has been the constant strength needed throughout.
Submissions
As a non-profit, voluntary organisation, we rely on submissions sent in by our readers. You may have noticed that recently we’ve had to cut down the number of pages in each issue, that’s because finding content has been a bit of a struggle. So if you have anything you think would fit with our values, we encourage you to send it in!
We look for book and music reviews, recipes, poems and articles (long or short – it only takes 300 words to fill a page). We can’t guarantee that every piece will be published, but we’d be grateful to hear from you. 🙂 The deadline for our next issue is the 30th of April. Send any submissions, along with a short introduction about yourself, to info.rooted.mag@gmail.com.
If you have Instagram, look out for our content (@rooted.mag.ig) as we attempt to post a little more regularly – I basically have no idea how it works though so bear with me!
