As you may know, it’s Remembrance Sunday today. I’ve been doing a little research around it.
It’s one hundred years since Remembrance Sunday was first held. Psalm 23 is a common Psalm read during church gatherings remembering the lives lost during war. The Bible was the most read book on both sides during World War I.
I love Psalm 23 because I find it strengthening and full of hope. I wonder if it was a popular psalm to read because of this comforting verse:
“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me;”
Psalms 23:4
For people in the trenches, that would have been very encouraging. 🙂

It’s one of my favourite psalms, Unity, and it was my Grandmothers favourite, too!
